Two monks blow long horns on the roof of Thiksay Monastery, Leh, Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, India, on the morning of 1st June 2009. The horns are blown multiple times for 3 sets to announce the special morning prayers that will take place at 6am today. Special prayers like these happen about 4 times a year. Thiksay, founded in the 15th century, sits on a hill 19 km southeast of Leh town, and houses approximately 100 monks. Leh town can be seen in the background. Photo by Suzanne Lee
